Danny Conlon

Danny’s early beginnings with the trade union movement in the mid to late 90’s as an official with the Transport Workers Union, instigated an accumulation of skills and relationships that continue to benefit the organisations he has worked with and led. An astute advocate with the capacity to navigate complex issues, manage conflict and negotiate outcomes through often demanding and resource constrained environments, these were in many ways the years that would define Danny’s leadership style.

Moving to what was Collex Waste Management in late 1998, Danny’s journey from entry level supervisor to leading the Australian and New Zealand operations of Veolia as Managing Director and CEO, has provided an unparalleled journey of development and professional experience, spanning all facets of an organisation recognised as the global leader in its field.

Secondments and projects undertaken throughout Asia, North America, the Middle East, Europe and the United Kingdom have both advanced and enhanced a comprehensive understanding of local investment drivers, technologies, regulatory frameworks and infrastructure requirements.

An experienced Board, Executive and leadership team member who has successfully led workforces of over 4000 to build team cohesion, safety mindset, commitment and performance improvement during periods of intense organisational and market change.

A passionate advocate for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander recognition and reconciliation, Danny remains committed to a number of initiatives and organisations in support of positive outcomes for Indigenous Australians.

My leadership is based on humility, fairness and respect. My record of delivering through senior teams and the broader workforce is framed around three key expectations – focus, accountability and discipline.
